Sorry this blog has not been update in a month. It has been very busy with travel, and lots of work and many projects.

The art guild has been very busy with the Mural project and the calendar project, Old Fashion 4th of July plans, and helping to prepare a TAG grant.

The Mural project was a great success (pictured below). The Art Guild of Hope won $750.00 for it's 8x8 panel depiction of the 2nd street bridge, courthouse, bike trail, and windmills. The theme was Dreaming of a Greener Columbus. It was a blast working with other guild members and I look forward to many more project in the future.

We are in the finale stage of the calendar project. It has been a lot of hard work and many sales calls. We will being designing the calendar this next week. The judging was very hard because there were many great painting to chose from. They have all been photographed and will be displayed at the Gallery in Hope. All ads have been sold and they are ready to be turned over to the designer and then off to printing and ready for sales. Be sure to purchase one at various locations in and around Hope and Columbus.

Old Fashion 4th of July (really 3rd of July) the Art Guild will be having a children's sidewalk chalk drawing contest. It will be held in the shelter house on the Hope town square from 6 to 8 pm. There will be 4 age groups, pre-K to 1st grade, 2nd & 3th , 4th & 5th and 6th & 7th. There will be a penny vote for the best drawing in each age group.

The TAG grant is a collaboration with The Community Center of Hope, The Hope Chamber of Commerce and The Art Guild of Hope. More information to follows as we are just starting this project.

Please forgive me I will try harder to keep this blog updated from now on.
